Asset management
The Asset Management Section includes the Asset Condition and Asset Engineering Teams. The section is responsible for maintaining the condition and value of the Welsh Assembly’s motorway and trunk road assets.
The Asset Engineering team works closely with the Asset Condition Team, Area Operation Teams, Network Control Centre Teams and Service Providers to establish, manage and update coordinated annual and five year programmes of works.
Assets include:
- the highway
- bridges and structures (including tunnels)
- street lighting
- traffic signals
- Crash Barrier
- Signs
- the soft estate including highway verges and planted landscape areas
The section is also responsible for setting policies to ensure that service delivery meets the requirements of the Welsh Assembly Government Maintenance Agreement and managing the performance of service providers.
